The Maine Coastal Program has an array of resources and publications on coastal issues, and coordinates Maine’s annual Coastweek celebration and Coastal Cleanup (held each September).
Marine Environmental Research Institute in Blue Hill does extensive scientific research along Maine’s coast and offers a lecture series, summer workshops and other presentations.
